About the Role

The Accounting Assistant is an integral part of Latham’s dynamic Financial Accounting team and will be responsible for supporting Germany-wide accounting by performing administrative and clerical accounting duties involving calculations, verifications, and postings. This role will be located in our Frankfurt office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Assisting with all day-to-day tasks supporting the staff in the Accounting Department
  • Answering routine questions and directing correspondence to the appropriate individual
  • Processing and/or compiling financial data or records according to standard procedures and methods
  • Preparing invoices for payment processes
  • Assisting with preparation of payroll taxation on benefits in kind

  

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of bookkeeping procedures such as posting, balancing, debits and credits, and journal entries
  • Understand relevant local tax implications of travel expenses and benefits in kind
  • Possess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact and communicate effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm 

 

And have:

 

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German, good English communication skills, preferably
  • Knowledge and proficiency in PC Applications, including spreadsheet software
