About the Role

The Business Development Senior Specialist will support our German Corporate partners and join our well-established and highly collaborative Business Development (BD) team. Working across Private Equity and M&A practices and industries including Tech, Healthcare and Energy & Infrastructure, this role will be responsible for working in close collaboration with key market leaders and colleagues across the BD department to support practices to achieve their strategic marketing and business development goals, while developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of practice, market, industry expertise, client mix, matter experience, trade groups, and media, and using this to develop and execute strategic business development and marketing plans.

 

This role will be located in either our Frankfurt or Munich office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Working with partners and other industry and practice leads to support the evaluation, planning and execution of BD and marketing initiatives and business strategies to grow the practice
  • Collaborating with the New Business Team who lead on the production of pitch books, presentations and responses to RFI’s and RFP’s to produce compelling materials that help us win new business and drive practice growth
  • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of written marketing materials and website content, including practice profiles, and relevant experience lists
  • Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships in close collaboration with the internal research team
  • Supporting on drafting submissions for legal directories and related industry guides
  • Working alongside the events team to organize market-leading events such as panel/speaking engagement opportunities, seminars, receptions, thought leadership dinners, etc.
  • Collaborating with other regional and global colleagues to access their expertise and support, ranging from brand and communications, e-marketing to knowledge management and others to i.e. strengthen our brand, producing client alerts or enable various BD processes.
  • Developing internal communications to inform relevant practice and industry groups of significant achievements, developments, and market synergies

  • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to clients, understanding their needs and decision making processes
  • Exhibit excellent attention to detail for all projects as well as the ability to keep sight of the big picture as the common end-goal
  • Possess the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively, as well as the ability to work independently as well as part of a highly collaborative team
  • Are self-sufficient, proactive, and have the ability to interact and build effective commercial partnerships with colleagues across the firm

 

And have:

 

  • Relevant business development and marketing experience in a legal or professional services environment
  • Experience with taking either a professional services or law firm to market
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in German and English
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably
